The Foundation for Culture and Economic Development is an independent non-profit organization that carries out its activities in accordance with the Constitution, the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria and its statutes. The foundation was established in 2001 designated to carry out activities for the public benefit.
The Foundation works for the development of the rule of law and civil society in Bulgaria by affirming spiritual values and promoting economic initiative, organizing and supporting activities related to the revival of national culture and ensuring sustainable economic development in the country.
Main objectives of the Foundation
- Stimulates the development of economic and cultural life for the revival of the national economy and raising the standard of living in municipalities and settlements.
- Assists in expanding entrepreneurship, increasing employment, solving social problems at the local and national level and supporting the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the country.
- Works actively to preserve the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage, restoration of landmarks and cultural monuments, protection of the Bulgarian nature and natural resources and development of Bulgarian tourism.
- Contributes to the development of civil society, inclusion to European values and acceleration of Bulgaria’s integration into Europe and European structures.
- Contributes to the expansion of ethnic and religious tolerance in the country, protection of the rights of minorities, their integration into society and preservation of their cultural identity.
- Supports the creation of working contacts and networking of cultural institutions and non-profit organizations, as well as non-profit organizations with state and municipal bodies at the local, regional and national level and with the business environment.
Means for achieving the Foundation’s objectives
- Implements and supports projects and research, as well as supports public initiatives related to its main goals.
- Organizes symposia, seminars, conferences and other national and international meetings on issues related to the Foundation’s goals.
- Publish informational, analytical and other materials related to the goals of the Foundation.
- Participates in initiatives of the non-profit sector in the country, related to advocacy on important social issues and creation of favourable conditions for the development of non-profit organizations,
- Actively participates and supports international cooperation related to the goals and tasks of the Foundation.
- Cooperates with organizations, institutions and individuals in the country and abroad for timely exchange of information.
- Creates lasting partnerships and interacts with state and municipal institutions, non-profit organizations and businesses.
